2. Lift receiver and listen for dial tone.
3. Press 1 on phone eliminate dial tone.
4. Press and hold the appropriate message button (1-4) on the message control unit and speak normally into the hand / headset. Release the switch at the end of your message. If necessary repeat step number 3.

Adjust Playback Level
7. Verify recorded greeting(s), adjust recording volume (gain) as needed. (See note D).
  • Call a friend on your telephone and ask them how your recording sounds. The recording playback volume and your voice level should be adjusted so that your voice and the recording sound the same to your friend.
  • If after adjusting the gain your recording still does not sound right, check to see that the Q-Voicesaver is installed correctly. Then change the MIC TYPE setting switch on the back of the unit. Adjust the gain setting until your recording sounds natural.

8. Change if necessary by repeating steps 1-5.

Play (answering calls)
1. Make certain that the PLAY/REC switch is set to PLAY.
2. Answer the call as you normally would, but instead of speaking your normal greeting, press and release the appropriate message button (1-4) on the message control unit. Your recorded message will be heard by the caller. (see notes)

NOTES:
A. If you speak while your message is playing the caller will hear both voices.
B. If at anytime you need to stop your message playback, just push the appropriate message key again, and the recording will stop.
C. If power is temporarily lost your recorded message(s) will be lost. Record your message(s) again as described in the above.
D. The volume of your recorded message(s) will sound lower to you than what the person on the other end of the line will hear. This is normal. What is important is that you set the volume gain to a setting that sounds natural to the person you are talking to.
